Multiview is slow, one stream freezes, or I hear the wrong sound

Multiview lets you watch up to 4 streams on one screen. It asks a lot from your device and your internet, so if things feel slow or one picture stops, here is what to look at.

Opening Multiview

Select your profile avatar in the top-right and choose Multiview. Add the streams you want, up to four.

Why Multiview can feel slow

Every stream is a full video arriving at the same time. That means:

• Your box has to decode several videos at once, so it needs to be reasonably powerful.
• Each stream uses its own share of your internet. Four streams use roughly four times as much as one.

Older or entry-level boxes may manage two streams well but struggle with four.

If the whole screen is slow

1. Try fewer streams. Drop from four to three, or two, and see if it settles.
2. Close other apps running on the device.
3. Restart the TV box so it starts fresh.

If one stream freezes

When only one tile stops while the others play:

• Swap that tile to a different channel. If the new one plays fine, the problem is with that single channel, not Multiview.
• If every stream freezes from time to time, your internet is likely the limit. Restart your router and TV box, and use wired internet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi if you can.
• In Settings → Playback, set Buffer to Fewer stalls. It waits a little longer before starting but copes better with slow internet.

Choosing the sound

Only one stream plays sound at a time. In Multiview you choose which one you hear, so move to the tile you want to listen to and select it for sound. Switch whenever you like, for example when something happens on another stream.

If there's no sound at all

If you use a soundbar or AV receiver and a stream has no sound, try turning off Dolby / DTS passthrough in Settings → Playback.
