The app keeps closing or crashing. What can I do?

If Zenith closes by itself, freezes or drops you back to the home screen, the cause is usually something simple on the device. These fixes take a few minutes and solve most cases.

1. Restart the device

TV boxes and sticks often run for weeks without a proper restart, and memory fills up over time. Turn the device off fully, wait about ten seconds, and turn it back on. Then open Zenith again.

2. Use Reload content

If the app crashes in a particular place, like when opening Movies or a certain category, the downloaded lists may need refreshing.

1. Open your profile avatar in the top-right.
2. Go to Settings → Reload content.
3. Keep the app open while it downloads channel, movie and series lists again.

Your favourites and history stay.

3. Free up storage

Low storage is a common cause of apps closing. On your device:

• Uninstall apps you no longer use.
• Clear out large downloads you don't need.

If you use Pause live TV (beta) in Settings → Playback, remember it can use up to 1 GB of free space. If your device is very short on space, try turning it off.

4. Update the app

Get the latest version from zenithplayer.us. On Fire TV and Android TV, use the Downloader app with the Zenith Downloader code shown on the site. On a phone or tablet, tap Download on zenithplayer.us.

After updating, you may see a second Zenith icon, because the app recently moved to a new app ID. Open the new one, send us its device code so we can move your plan, then uninstall the old one.

5. If pictures freeze or turn green

If the app doesn't close but some channels freeze or show green pictures, turn on Prefer software decoding in Settings → Playback. It uses more of the device's power, so switch it off again if it doesn't help.
